HP Color LaserJet 5100tn Toner - Makes for A Top-Notch Compatible Toner Cartridge
There are many printers that can perform multiple tasks, but very few perform specific tasks to an exceptional degree. The HP LaserJet 5100tn printer can serve several purposes, but its focus is extreme resolution. Developed for CAD, the 5100tn brings a powerful precision tool to your desktop, with the exceptional clarity enhanced by the HP LaserJet 5100tn printer toner.
On the surface, the 5100tn seems to be just the average printer. It has a 300 MHz CPU and a 16 MB internal memory, which of course can be upgraded to 192 MB if you decide to expand. It prints at twenty one pages per minute and tops out with a workload of 65,000 pages per month. What is so special about this printer is its ProRes 1200 technology that allows the 1200 x 1200 dpi print quality to produce work that is very accurate and very detailed.
Medias such as recycled paper, preprinted, vellum, rough, colored, bonded and pre-punched medias can be used without a problem with the 5100tn. It can also handle the standard letter, executive, legal, and tabloid formats as well as number 10 envelopes. To further its versatility, you can print in customizable sizes ranging form 3" x 5" to 12.28" x 18.5" on the previously mentioned media types.
Desktop printing can be difficult as it is rather large. The measurements of this machine are 18.7" wide, 25" in depth, and 18.6" high. It has a moderate weight of 48.7 pounds. This allows it to be easily maneuvered but it still weighs enough to be able to keep its position while printing. The most appropriate place to put this printer would be next to the desk or on a low stable table.
This printer will serve well as a networking printing device as it contains the HP WP110 Internal Wireless Print Server. This allows any computer with the right access to be able to use the printer and its abilities. It also carries an industry-standard IEEE 1824-compliant parallel port as well as a Connectivity Card for Serial, LocalTalk, and USB connectivity. An EIO internal print server can be set up if the printer is hardwired in any of the mentioned manners. Also look into HP ink and toner.
When you purchase this printer through a retail supplier, the printer is not the only thing that you will receive. The box contains all of the necessary power cables, a printer cartridge capable of printing up to 10,000 pages, a control panel overlay. You will also receive a hard copy of the User's Guide and a CD-ROM that has the software needed for installation along with a digital copy of the manual. You can even request the overlay to be printed in your native language if it is not English.
If you are trying to find a retail version of this printer it can be rather difficult since this model has been discontinued by HP. You will be able to find refurbished models more easily at the price of around $600. There may be other similar printers that come at a much cheaper price, but finding one with the accuracy and detail of this printer can prove difficult. And remember, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for" when it comes to quality over quantity.
The HP LaserJet 5100tn is an average printer in many respects if you just look at the surface, but CAD professionals and other designers have respected its attention to detail for years as it is very important in their jobs to get the details right. This is a specialized printer for specialized goals. If you simply need a multipurpose, generic print solution, it may not be for you, but if accuracy is your focus, the 5100tn might be just what you need. The accuracy would not be possible without 5100tn printer toner cartridges.
