Canon ImageClass D660 - Helping Your Home Office To Grow
Specs- The Canon ImageClass D660 Copier Printer uses ImageClass D660 toner cartridge and employs the latest digital, laser technology to produce fantastic quality prints in black and white. This multi-function device definitely doesn't compromise on style and compaction at 17.5x24.5x15 inch with it's super affordable price of US$400.00. You will have to search far and wide to get a better investment with such low maintenance, heavy duty performance.
Paper handling- Paper handling is very efficient, not to mention fast via the 500 sheet front cassette and 100 sheet multi-tray. All popular paper types are accepted by the device including plain, colour, bond, transparencies, labels and envelopes. Letter and legal are unfortunately the only compatible paper sizes accepted. The machine boasts with a rather large media cap of 600 sheets. Warm-up time is short, not even worth a mention at 1second. First copy or print out is at an impressive 13 seconds
Print Quality- Text prints are absolutely crisp and clean with no smudging or blemishing. Character outlines are clear both in high and low font sizes. Photo and graphics quality is also above average. However most users will prefer colour to monochrome printing. If this is the case, rather opt for a Canon colour printer. Prints are produced at either 600x600 or 2400x600 resolutions depending on the print quality required. Be sure to only use ImageClass D660 printer toner with this product.
Con's- A major problem is the printers' paper jam tendency. You will have to unjam and restart every time this happens, wasting a lot of time. Reliability is serious compromised by this problem. If time is limited and print quantity substantial in your print environment rather steer clear from this device as it has the potential of driving you crazy within a short period of time.
Features- The machine boasts with great features such Canon's Advanced Printing Technology having a definite influence on the top notch print quality, copies are produced at super speed of 13 pages per minute for letter size and 10 pages per minute legal, images can be zoomed as low as 50% and high as 200% with different increment settings, 30 sheet automated document feeding, maintenance-free performance due to Canon's single cartridge system and last but not least memory collation.
Interfacing options- Parallel and USB interfacing options come standard with your purchase, making the device suitable for both dated and outdated computers. Linux and Apple operating systems are unfortunately incompatible with the device. Even though Windows is the only compatible OS, Vista version may encounter some configuration problems. USB cable is not included with the copier printer.
Guarantee- A 3 year manufacturer's guarantee with 1 year on-site service is included with the device. Note that guarantee is limited in terms of parts, labour and service. Terms and conditions are applicable.
Toner-Full-sized ImageClass D660 cartridge will be included with your in store or online printer copier investment. These larger sized cartridges have 5000 print capacity at 5% coverage. Greater print capacity will be possible with lower coverage percentages. The Single Cartridge System is an absolute cost saver making toner, development unit and drum replacement as easy as replacing only one consumable instead of three. Cartridges cost approximtely US$160.00.
